Blissful Outdoor Wedding Show (BOWS) Jan 2011

Back for the seventh time by popular demand, the Blissful Outdoor Wedding Show (BOWS) revisited Dhoby Ghaut Green from 14 to 16 January 2011. Jointly presented by Blissful Brides magazine and XCL Concepts, the much-anticipated three-day wedding spectacle produced many highlights worth looking back on.

The first of two Blissful Outdoor Wedding Show (BOWS) extravaganzas in 2011 was held at the enchanting Dhoby Ghaut Green, located above Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, in the heart of town. The central location meant that it was easily accessible to both couples planning their weddings, as well as weekend shoppers needing shelter from the muggy heat or intermittent rain showers. Housing over 40 wedding merchants, from bridal designers and photographers to wedding caterers and leading hotels amongst many others, our elegant tent, beautifully decorated by Rich Harvest Florist & Trading, played host to about 2000 couples who thronged the event over the three days.

HAPPENING HIGHLIGHTS
Couples who pre-registered for the event were presented with goodie bags, which included vouchers from Soo Kee Jewellery, Vera Wang perfume miniatures, wedding favours and more. Official credit card DBS also offered exclusive privileges and freebies for their cardholders.

Presenting the event were emcees from DCT Management, while talented musicians from Love Me Knot filled the air with a repertoire of love songs, as couples took their time to stroll in comfort through our big white tent, delighting in what our merchants had to offer. Thanks to iCleeq Mobile Photo Booth, back by popular demand, all the couples had fun taking impromptu pictures for the photo wall, before taking home special souvenirs.

A new highlight this time round was the ‘Vote for Your Favourite Gown contest, where the award winners for the Tea Dress, Wedding Gown and Evening Gown categories went to My Dream Wedding, The Aisle Bridal Boutique and Golden Horse Awards Bridal & Studio respectively. For picking the top gowns, three couples each won prizes courtesy of My Cozy Room Boutique Spa, Ray Gan Photography and SK-II.

No wedding event would be complete without the line-up of superb prizes. Three lucky couples won spectacular gems from Soo Kee Jewellery at the Grand Lucky Draw, while two lucky couples were presented with $1000 cash rebates for the packages they had signed up for.
